Olympus Employees Donate Nearly 1,200 Volunteer Hours to Greater-Atlantic City Charities2017年05月17日 Over 250 employees participated in Day of Caring throughout the local community Center Valley, PA (May 11, 2017) --- Olympus, a global technology leader in designing and delivering innovations in life science and industrial solutions, among other core businesses, announced today that over 250 of its employees from around the country participated in a Day of Caring in Greater-Atlantic City, donating nearly 1,200 hours of volunteer time to local charities. Olympus recognizes the importance of supporting community organizations and is passionate about giving its employees opportunities to get involved. Olympus Scientific Solutions Group employees, in the area for their annual sales meeting, were given the opportunity to select a local charity of their choice to volunteer four hours of their time. Participating charities included: Clean the World, Career Opportunity Development, Inc. (CODI), Humane Society, Second Wind Dreams, The Community Food Bank of NJ and United Way Youth Support. “Community involvement is an integral part of our culture,” said Fabrice Cancre, President, Olympus Scientific Solutions Group. “We are thrilled to bring our employees from all over the country together to volunteer their time to these deserving organizations. The community spirit and camaraderie on our Day of Caring accelerates our ability to achieve our mission of contributing to society by making people's lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling around the world." In addition to the donation of its employees’ time, Olympus made financial donations to support these community outreach activities, totaling nearly $12,000. In addition to volunteering his time at the Humane Society Atlantic County, Olympus Scientific Solutions Group employee Jim Foley adopted puppy “Jersey” during the company’s Day of Caring. The Foley family will bring Jersey to his forever home upon completion of shots and neutering. Olympus Scientific Solutions Group employees volunteer their time at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
